Background

The UK leg of the tour was confirmed by lead singer/guitarist Danny Jones on the bands ground breaking website Super City. The band originally was set to do a 14-date tour across the United Kingdom but 2 weeks before tour they rearranged 3 of the first dates of the tour. The tour was meant to kick of on 12 March at Nottingham Arena but was re-arranged to the end of the tour, due to Dougie's stint in Rehab over emotional issues. The tour kicked off at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on Friday 18 March. McFly tweeted ahead of the tour saying "This is the most songs we've played" and that they was some pretty cool things" to happen. Due to the success of Supercity and the band discovering new fans across the world, further dates were added for Japan and Spain. Harry from the band also announced on 30 March via Twitter "Don't know why the south American dates haven been announced yet cos we are definitely coming!". McFly were supported by That Sunday Feeling, City Stereo and The Struts on the UK dates. The tour was the first arena tour with the band's new electro-esque sound, Dougie told Bournemouth Echo “Some fans are not into it and played live, our new stuff sounds a lot heavier but I think it still fits in with all of our old tracks and when they hear it live they will see. My favourite track from the new album Above The Noise is ‘Nowhere Left To Run and I’m really looking forward to playing it live on tour.”

Critical Reception

The Shields Gazette also gave the tour a positive review along mention how "With a fiery and energetic performance, they kept the crowd going all night long" while also mentioning "It was a top show". The Chronicle Live complimented the set of the show saying "The cavalry had well and truly arrived, while health and safety was thrown out the window as flames started to ascend from the stage and confetti was blasted from cannons." and concluding praising the boys "With an average age of 25, the boys certainly have time on their side and as long as they can keep their problems behind them, there is no reason to suggest why McFly can’t continue to impress their adoring fans.". Bournemouth Echo mentioned the experience of the tour which was "A high-octane rampage that never pauses for one second, the McFly live experience is loud, energetic and thoroughly entertaining.".
